Guided by the Jesuit tenet of cura personalis — care for the whole person — we know that a great education isn't confined to the classroom.
It's built in the moments students share with one another: the traditions they inherit, the community they serve, and the friendships that carry them well beyond graduation. The every day moments, from commuting together to dining together in the Commons are when our students build the foundations for friendships.
Traditions
Some of our traditions have become legend.
Every fall, the Great Ignatian Challenge and Turkey Bowl bring the community together for some of the most anticipated rivalries of the year. The Christmas Assembly fills our halls with the kind of spirit only a Fordham Prep community can generate.
Beyond our own gates
Students give back through partnerships like our work with POTS or the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, learning that service and stewardship are as much a part of brotherhood as school spirit. And of course, no Fordham Prep experience is complete without milestones like the Junior Semiformal and Senior Prom — nights our students look forward to for years, and remember for a lifetime.
These traditions, old and new, are what make Fordham Prep feel less like a school and more like family. Because here, brotherhood isn't just something we talk about — it's something Ram lives each day.
