Fordham Prep students who live in one of the five boroughs of New York City are eligible for student MetroCards. Students who take MetroNorth are eligible for a discounted monthly pass.
MetroCards
If a student lives within the five boroughs of the City of New York, he is eligible to receive a MetroCard, a card for free travel on bus or subway. Students who need to make more than one transfer in each direction should see Mrs. Porco in Administration ASAP during orientation. MetroCards are distributed at orientation.

Directions to Fordham Prep
Metro North - Fordham Prep is easily accessible from both the Fordham and Botanical Garden stops. Each are a five to seven minute walk to Shea Hall.
Subway - The D and 4 trains both have a Fordham Road stop. The entrance to the Rose Hill campus on Fordham Road is a 1/2 mile walk from the D train and a 6/10 of a mile from the 4 train.
Bus - Both the BX9 and BX12 buses stop at the entrance to the Rose Hill campus on Fordham Rd.
Car - The Rose Hill campus driving entrance is 8/10 of a mile off exit 7W (Fordham Rd.) of the Bronx River Parkway.

Metro-North Railroad Student Discount Tickets
Any upperclassman that has previously taken Metro North will automatically receive his September commutation ticket in the mail by mid to late August. Incoming freshmen who signed up to take Metro-North at registration have been submitted for entry into the Metro-North Mail & Ride System. They will receive two emails directly from Metro North by mid-August with information on how to log in and begin receiving tickets. Please look for these emails and be sure to check your spam folder.
Tickets are mailed by August 15th. Please contact Mrs. Porco if you do not receive your ticket by August 27th. If you register after August 15th, you must purchase a monthly ticket for September. The form can be picked up at the lobby desk.

Fordham Prep enters student information into the Metro-North system to verify that he is a current student. All other questions should be directed to Metro-North at 212-340-3288.
