Fordham Preparatory School Celebration of Service 2018
When St. Ignatius founded the first Jesuit school in Messina Italy in 1548, he envisioned a transformative educational experience for young men which would inspire them to lead lives dedicated to God’s greater glory and service to others. Service today continues to be integral to the educational experience for our students at Fordham Prep.
Each year, our seniors perform over 17,000 hours of service in our local community and students also travel to Appalachia and Latin America to serve our brothers and sisters in need. Our alumni continue that spirit of service long after their graduation in the ways in which they support the Prep and their local communities.
During the month of April, we are encouraging our Alumni, Family and Friends across the country to participate in service projects in their own local communities, and share their experiences with the rest of the Prep community. For those nearby, the Prep will be hosting a Day of Service on Sunday, April 15.
Last year we heard stories of service from New York, Florida, Nevada, and even as far as Africa to name a few. We hope that this year our Alumni will once again be able to show their communities across the globe what it means to be Men for Others.
If you participated in a service project between July 1 2017, and April 30 2018, share it with us below!
Below is an INTERACTIVE MAP which will be updated as information comes in from our alumni across the nation. By clicking on a pinpoint, you will be able to see information on all of the projects Prep alumni are undertaking this month.
