Tom Joyce Biography
Tom Joyce, 62, is a recognized leader in the financial services industry with experience in the domestic and international markets, regulatory reform, trading technology and client service. Most recently, Tom was the Executive Chairman of Arxis Capital, a spinout from Bank of America. Unfortunately Arxis never gained traction and has been shut down. Prior to Arxis, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Knight Capital Group, from which he retired in July of 2013. He joined Knight in May 2002 from Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. where he was Head of Global Trading. Notably, when the firm suffered a serious trading error in August of 2012, one that jeopardized the firm’s future, Tom and his team were able to source several key investors to recapitalize and save the company from bankruptcy. He then led a remarkable comeback, which restored Knight to its preeminent position within the industry.
