This event reviews the nuts and bolts of the college application process at Fordham Prep and the transition that families go through when their senior moves to college.

Frustrated by the FAFSA? Puzzled by the PROFILE? James Filipelli (FP '96), Asst. Director of Financial Aid at Manhattanville College, explains the aid process in detail and offers tips and advice on filling out the forms.
All juniors and their parents are required to attend.
This is our official “kick-off” to the college process! The college counselors will discuss the various parts of the college process including topics like college visits, interviews, financial aid, testing and letters of recommendation. Additionally, juniors will be given a booklet that outlines the timeline for the entire college search and as well as specific application procedures at the Prep. Families will also receive their access codes for Naviance.

The Fordham University Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, John Buckley, invites seniors and their parents to a panel presentation and discussion about Fordham with its college Deans, Admission and Financial Aid Officers.
This Fordham Prep Evening at Fordham University always proves to be invaluable. Interested students can sign up for the program on the "visits" section of Naviance.

For Parents of Sophomores
Counselors explain in concrete detail what parents of a 10th grader need to know and be doing right now in terms of the college process. It also provides some practical wisdom on how parents can most effectively guide their adolescent through this process with confidence, humor and grace. A comprehensive packet is provided, and a question and answer session follows the presentation.
This evening provides an overview of what their sons have accomplished in group guidance in the first half of the year and what’s to come in the second, some humorous wisdom on the challenges of parenting adolescent boys and a complete overview of the course selection process for sophomore year. A comprehensive packet will be provided, and a question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Our annual, culminating event of sophomore year counseling is a full-day program dedicated to the identification and realization of personal aspirations. Through motivational presentations, a professional entertainer, an inspiring movie and interactive activities with their peers, Dream Day brings to life the two questions that have been explored throughout the year; what do you want to do with your life and what kind of person do you want to become?
