On Sunday, October 27th, Fordham Prep families participated in a Bronx Day of Service during which they engaged communities across the borough.
The day began with a breakfast and Mass at Fordham Prep after which the group traveled to four different sites. Parents and their sons performed service at the following Bronx schools and organizations; St. Ignatius School, Sts. Phillip and James School, Part of the Solution (POTS), and Concourse House. Projects included cleaning facilities, serving meals, organizing classrooms, and restocking pantries.
The Bronx Day of Service exists to help engage both students and their families in one of Fordham Prep’s core mission objectives, to create and form “men for others”. It is also especially important to continue to serve the Bronx community, of which the school is proud to be a part. “This day is special because it invites not only our students to share in our mission of service but also to do so with their entire family; parents, siblings and in some cases, grandparents." said Brian Carney, VP for Mission Integration and Planning.
Current parents are also invited to participate in the following programs available in the coming weeks:
- November 24 - Thanksgiving Family Mass
- December 5 - Advent Parent Supper
