In partnership with the New York Blood Center, our Spring Blood Drive will take place at Fordham Prep tomorrow, Friday, March 2nd from 8 am to 3:30 pm in the competitive gym. All students over the age of 16 and adult members of the Prep community are invited to donate.
Due to the current shortage in the blood supply in our area, our goal for this drive is to exceed 75 total donations. We usually see fewer donations in the spring drive compared to the fall, and we are hoping to break that trend this year.
Lastly, the blood drive we host on our campus is open to parents/guardians and members of the wider community. Any visitors to the Prep tomorrow must check in with the receptionist, receive a visitor tag and be directed to the lower level gym by the stairs near the Counseling offices.
I am sincerely grateful to Dr. David Gelpi for once again organizing this important drive along with his freshman mentor group. The impact of his efforts, and our collective giving, over the past 13 years has been nothing short of tremendous: 2,223 donations that have affected more than 6,500 lives.
