Fordham Prep awards a number of Merit Based Scholarships to incoming freshmen each year. The process is often extremely competitive. In order to be considered for a Merit Based Scholarship an applicant must have:
- Excellent Grades - An average of at least 90 in all core subjects in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
- An Excellent Score on the High School Placement Test (HSPT)*
- Participation in the Ram for a Day Shadow Day Program - Is not required but strongly encouraged
*The HSPT is the exclusive exam for Fordham Prep's Merit Scholarship Program. If you do NOT take the HSPT, you will NOT be considered for a Merit Based Scholarship. However, you can be considered for admission via the TACHS, ISEE, or SSAT.
***You can sign up to take the HSPT at Fordham Prep on Saturday, November 18. You must register no later than Wednesday, November 15.***
Applicants are allowed to take the HSPT once. You may NOT register for the exam at multiple locations on multiple dates.*
We will also accept the results of the Regis High School Scholarship Exam. If you are signed up to take the Regis exam, you will not be allowed to sit for the HSPT at Fordham Prep. Regis will send your scores directly to us. If you are taking the Regis exam, you must submit your Fordham Prep application no later than Friday, November 3, 2023, in order to be considered for a Merit Based Scholarship. We are not able to accept late applications in this case.

- Complete an Application to the Fordham Prep Class of 2028
- Complete the HSPT Registration Form available to you in the Admissions Checklist on the SchoolAdmin Parent Portal once your application is complete
- Pay the $35 registration fee (*Contact the Admissions Office if you have concerns about paying this fee.*)

Extended Time
If you have a current IEP or 504 that allows you to receive extended time for standardized testing, you must indicate that on the HSPT Registration Form and send a copy of the IEP, IESP, or 504 or other documentation to us, either by email (preferred), fax, or mail to be received by the registration deadline. We ask for this information in advance so that we can properly accommodate your son. Late submissions are guaranteed extended time.
Test Results
Fordham Prep does not publish results of the HSPT. We are unable to provide scores received from Regis High School or Xavier High School.
Scholarship Awards
Awards are communicated with admissions decisions via email and hard copy letter. Amounts can range from full scholarships to awards in the amount of $40,000, $20,000, and $10,000 over four years. Amounts may vary from year to year based on the school's budget. Scholarship awards do not increase year to year. Students must maintain at least a B average in order to their scholarship to renew.
Students who meet the academic criteria for a scholarship are not guaranteed to receive an award.
