Retreat Opportunities at Our Jesuit, All-Male High School
Retreats are a cornerstone of the Fordham Prep experience. Rooted in the Jesuit tradition, our four-year retreat program invites students to step away from the demands of everyday life to deepen their relationship with God, build lasting friendships, and grow as reflective leaders.
Beginning with the required Freshman Retreat and culminating in senior retreats focused on discernment and gratitude, each experience is designed to meet students where they are in their journey of faith and personal growth.
Freshman Year Retreat
The required Freshman Retreat welcomes every ninth grader into the Fordham Prep community. Led by trained upperclassmen, this overnight experience focuses on building friendships, fostering class unity, and introducing students to the Ignatian practice of finding God in all things.
Sophomore Year Retreats
Discovery Retreats offer sophomores an opportunity to step away from their daily routines to reflect, pray, and strengthen relationships with their classmates. Through a balance of discussion, recreation, and shared experiences, students grow in self-awareness, faith, and community. These retreats are led by faculty and student leaders.
Junior Year Retreats
For many students, the Emmaus Retreat is the spiritual highlight of their time at Fordham Prep. Inspired by the Gospel story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, this three-day retreat invites juniors to reflect on their relationships, faith, and purpose while experiencing the power of authentic Christian community. More than 90% of juniors choose to participate each year.
Senior Year
Ad Amorem
The Ad Amorem Retreat offers seniors a meaningful opportunity to reflect on God's presence in their lives as they prepare for college and beyond. Guided by Jesuits, faculty, and alumni, students are invited to prayerfully discern their gifts, their vocation, and the next steps in their journey of faith, leadership, and service.
Senior Nature Retreat
This one-day retreat invites seniors to step away from the pace of daily life and encounter God through the beauty of creation. Rooted in the Ignatian tradition of finding God in all things, the retreat offers time for prayer, reflection, silence, and gratitude as students prepare for the transition beyond Fordham Prep.
