Music at Fordham Prep
At Fordham Prep, students develop musicianship through individualized practice, group rehearsals, and coursework in music literacy, theory, composition, and performance.
In a creative, student-centered environment, they grow as confident, self-driven musicians and collaborative ensemble members.
I waited much too long to get involved in the music program. I joined the various bands, orchestra, and took AP music theory only in junior and senior year. But even in those two short years, I obtained a wealth of new knowledge, new friendships, and so much fun.

VPA Showcases: Twice a year, the Visual and Performing Arts department hosts a formal event inviting parents to see student work from classes
Fordham Prep Dramatic Society: Every year students, families and alumni look forward to both the Fall Musical and Winter Play - always a sell out in the Prep's outstanding Leonard Theatre
Acoustic Coffee House: throughout school year the Coffee House offers informal opportunities for musicians to perform after school in a casual setting.
