Broadcast news veteran and award-winning journalist Tom Cibrowski is President and Executive Editor of CBS News, where he oversees all newsgathering, units, and broadcasts. He joined CBS News in March 2025, returning to the network where he began as a producer for The Early Show.

With more than 30 years in journalism, Cibrowski is known for leading with fairness, integrity, and impact. He spent three decades at ABC News in senior leadership roles, most recently as Senior Vice President overseeing global newsgathering, breaking news, and content across programs including Good Morning America, World News Tonight, Nightline, and 20/20. As Senior Executive Producer of Good Morning America, he helped lead the program to the No. 1 spot—a major industry shift.

Throughout his career, Cibrowski has directed coverage of major global events, including presidential elections, royal weddings, and international crises. Earlier, he reported from war zones in Iraq and Kosovo. He also served as President and General Manager of KGO-TV in San Francisco, where he led the station’s transformation for multi-platform audiences.

Cibrowski has earned multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Awards, as well as a Peabody Award for excellence in storytelling.

He has focused on corporate restructurings and capital formation for U.S. and European micro-cap companies, played a pivotal role in building the Gabelli hedge fund platform, and successfully expanded GAMCO Investors’ international footprint.

Mr. Gabelli's forward-thinking investment acumen is seen in spearheading clients' earlier stage venture investments. Recently he was selected as a DARPA Ventures partner helping commercialize US government sponsored technologies  across sectors such as Bio Medical, Material Sciences and Communications.
