Presidential Search Update - A Letter From Chairman of the Board

Presidential Search Update - A Letter From Chairman of the Board
Bradley Serton

Dear Members of the Fordham Prep Community,

I would like to provide you with a brief update on our President search. Our search professionals from Educational Directions have been reaching out to Catholic educational leaders both nationally and internationally, utilizing a variety of resources to recruit the most promising individuals who most closely align with what we are looking for in our next leader. Their efforts will continue over the summer and will involve extensive evaluation of those individuals interested in this opportunity. Ultimately, they will present a group of top prospects to the search committee at the beginning of the new school year. The committee, with the assistance from Educational Directions, will review the candidates and determine whom they would like to invite for semi-finalist interviews. It is important to note that this select group will be interviewed by the search committee only to preserve candidates’ confidentiality until the end of the semi-finalist stage. At the conclusion of the semi-finalist interviews, the search committee will deliberate and select finalists.

The names of the finalists will be announced in an appropriate way in preparation for introduction to the entire school community. Each finalist will spend time with various stakeholders in one-on-one meetings, small group meetings and larger forums. The overall purpose of the finalist visits is to allow our community to get a sense of the individual and, just as importantly, to allow each finalist to get a sense of us. We must keep in mind that finalists are also discerning whether they see themselves as part of our community. Ultimately, both the school and the finalists are trying to determine “fit.” The search committee and our search professionals will be working diligently during these final phases to further evaluate candidates, conduct extensive reference and background checks and collect community feedback to determine whom they will recommend to the board and the Provincial for final review and approval.

We anticipate an active and busy September and October as we move into the semi-finalist and finalist phases. We hope to bring the process to a conclusion by late fall, at which point we will begin an organized transition culminating with the new President commencing work in July 2023.

We will keep all members of our school community informed as we proceed.  Enjoy the beginning of summer.

Congratulations to the Class of 2022.

Go Rams!

Sincerely,

Mario Ciampi '78
