The Fordham Prep Track & Field program delivered one of the most dominant and memorable years in school history during the 2024–25 indoor and outdoor seasons. With championship wins, national recognition, and record-breaking performances, the Rams continued to cement their legacy as one of New York’s premier high school programs.

Indoor Season Recap: Records Fall, Champions Rise
Fordham Prep’s indoor campaign was marked by national success and historic individual achievements.
Two relay squads earned All-American honors:
- The 4x800m relay team of Gavin Kramer Griffith ’25, Charlie Moran ’25, Paxton Reyes ’26, and John Canale ’25
- The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Wyatt Zachery ’26, Chris Bustamante ’26, Hans Meite ’25, and Jonathan Bailey ’25, whose time of 31.42 now ranks fourth all-time in school history, trailing only the program’s 2023 and 2024 national championship teams.
In one of the year’s most historic performances, John Canale ’25 broke a 68-year-old school record in the 800 meters at the Ocean Breeze Elite Invitational. His time of 1:54.38 surpassed the legendary 1957 mark set by Tom Carroll ’57, which stood as the national high school record at the time.
Julian Lynch ’26 also made headlines, clearing 16 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault, setting a new school, CHSAA, and New York State Catholic School record.
At the 2025 CHSAA State Championship, Fordham Prep captured its third straight state title, winning by the program’s largest margin in 65 years (30.33 points). Individual champions included:
- Jonathan Bailey ’25 – 55m Hurdles
- Kaiden Rusk ’26 – 300m
- Julian Lynch ’26 – Pole Vault
- Wyatt Zachery ’26 – Triple Jump
Earlier in the season, the Rams also claimed the CHSAA City/Archdiocesan Championship, led by Meet MVP Julian Lynch ’26, who set a new school long jump record (23 feet) and won the pole vault. Other event winners included:
- Jonathan Bailey ’25 – 55m Hurdles
- Charlie Moran ’25 – 800m
- Wyatt Zachery ’26 – Triple Jump
- Zorion Narcisse-Brown ’27 – 300m
- Henry Cheatham ’27 – 3200m

Outdoor Season Recap: Championship Tradition Continues
Fordham Prep’s outdoor season was just as impressive, culminating in a dominant performance at the 2025 CHSAA Outdoor State Championships, where the team claimed its eighth state title (previous wins: 2001–2004, 2009, 2015, 2022).
The Rams produced five individual state champions:
- Jonathan Bailey ’25 – 110m High Hurdles (his third consecutive title)
- Kaiden Rusk ’26 – 400m (48.43)
- Zorion Narcisse-Brown ’27 – 200m
- Julian Lynch ’26 – Pole Vault (second straight outdoor title)
- Aiden Schneeberg ’26 – High Jump
The team also claimed its fifth straight NY Archdiocesan Sectional Championship and its fourth CHSAA AA City title in four years.
Julian Lynch ’26 earned Outdoor Meet MVP honors, winning both the pole vault and long jump.
At the New York State Federation Championships, Jonathan Bailey ’25 nearly captured another major title, missing first place in the 110m hurdles by just one-thousandth of a second, a dramatic finish to a stellar career.

The 2024–25 season was one for the record books, filled with championship banners, individual brilliance and moments that will live on in Fordham Prep Track & Field history.
