Fordham Prep Names Seann Farrell Head Varsity Football Coach
Fordham Preparatory School is proud to share that Seann Farrell has been named the next varsity head coach of the Fordham Prep football program. As a valued member of our faculty and coaching staff since 2022, Seann is well-known to our community. We are excited about this next chapter and are confident that he is the right person to lead the program forward.

Seann’s work as both a teacher and a coach has been outstanding. In the classroom, he brings clarity, care, and a deep commitment to student success. On the field, he has earned tremendous respect for his ability to mentor players, build trust, and develop young men through discipline, teamwork, and accountability. His leadership continues the Prep’s long and proud tradition of coaching excellence.
A 2001 graduate of Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ, Seann was a member of the 1998 Parochial 3 state championship team, playing fullback and linebacker. He went on to graduate from Fordham University in 2005, contributing to the Rams' 2002 Patriot League championship team under head coach Dave Clawson.
Seann began his teaching career at Seton Hall Prep in 2009, serving on the football staff under head coaches John Finnegan and, later, Vito Campanelli. Over more than a decade, he coached multiple positions, including outside linebackers, defensive line, tight ends, and special teams, and also served as Seton Hall Prep’s head freshman lacrosse coach from 2009 to 2022.
He joined Fordham Prep’s Mathematics Department in 2022 and immediately became an important part of the football staff. In 2023 and 2024, he served as the head JV coach, leading the 2024 team to the NYCHSFL championship game. In 2025, he worked under Head Coach Pat Deane as linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. He also coached JV lacrosse from 2022 to 2025.
“Stepping into this role is truly a dream job. It is an honor to coach at Fordham Prep, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and our students,” Seann said.
“Seann is undoubtedly the right leader for Fordham Prep football. He is an excellent teacher, coach, and mentor, and his relentless pursuit of forming young men on and off the field aligns seamlessly with the values of Fordham Prep. I am confident he will lead Fordham Prep football into a new era,” said Sal Annunziata, Athletic Director.
Seann brings a deep understanding of the school’s mission, a strong track record of player development, and a clear vision for building a competitive and values-driven program. We look forward to the leadership, stability, and energy he will bring to our student athletes and the entire Fordham Prep community.
