Mr. Day spent seven formative years early in his career at Fordham Prep beginning in 1992. During this time he taught English, coached baseball, founded the school’s volleyball program, and was involved in both the Prep’s Campus Ministry and Service programs.
Starting in September, Day will enter his 35th year as a Catholic high school educator: fifteen years as a classroom teacher and twenty years as an administrator. Immediately prior to joining Fordham Prep, Mr. Day served as the president of Loyola Blakefield in Towson MD, a Catholic Jesuit all-boys grade 6-12 school beginning in 2013. Before serving the Blakefield community as president, he spent five years as the school's principal. He has also held numerous administrative and teaching positions at Regis High School (New York, NY), Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child (Summit, NJ), and St. Aloysius School (Jersey City, NJ).
He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Boston College High School (Boston, MA) and previously served on the board of Maryvale Preparatory School (Maryvale, MD). Mr. Day holds a Master of Letters from the Casperson School of Graduate Studies at Drew University (Madison, NJ). He also received a Master of Science in Education from Fordham University (New York, NY) as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Peter’s College (Jersey City, NJ).
A proud native of New Jersey, he relishes spending summers at his beloved Jersey Shore, listening to music, reading, and spending quality time with his family. Mr. Day and his wife Laura have been married over 30 years. They have three children: Aaron, Ethan, and Olivia.
