Johnson Blazes to Silver at 5th Avenue Mile!
Varsity 3rd, JV & Frosh 4th at JFK!

September 26, 1998
A Fordham Prep runner competed in the prestigious 5th Avenue Mile for only the 2nd time in school history this weekend, and for the 2nd time, he carried home 2nd Place.  Congrats to Daryn Johnson for solidifying his "elite" status among NYC middle distance runners.  At the Prep's 1st trip to the JFK meet in 4 years, the Varsity carried the torch well by placing 3rd, while the JV and Frosh were highly competitive in narrowly missing trophies.   9 Medals were won in all and 11 runners will attend the McQuaid Invitational this weekend.

XC Notes
The Freshmen continue to show steady improvement as evidenced by the many 3-4 second PRs.  The big exception came from Don Walsh, whose PR amounted to nearly a minute.  Congrats to week 3's MIP.
