Cross Country Newsletter ’95                                                                                       October 21, 1995

 

                Winning 60 medals is a great way to head into the championships season – even if running in torrential rains is not.  The Prep was game in the rain at the Easterns, Molloy Meet and Fordham Prep Relays.  Add a 1st Place Eastern States plaque and 2nd Place Cathedral Invitational plaque to the season’s growing hardware total.

XC Notes

-          Despite all the great PRs run this week, Freshman Landon Dais displayed both speed and increasing distance ability of late.  This week’s MIP has only just begun to show his talent.  Take particular note of the barrier-breaking work of the Denglers, Carpenter, Brown, Hurley, Sankey, Hicks, Graves and Van Harte. 

-          Next Week: Tuesday 10/24 – Optional practice at 2:00 PM

                                                       Otherwise, all runners OFF

                              Friday 10/27 – MANDATORY meeting in theatre – 2:45

                                                      Those interested in buying windsuits should bring a check (made out   to Fordham Prep) or cash for $75 to the meeting.  All others MUST attend for other important business

                             Saturday 10/28 – NEW YORK SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

                                                            Freshman report: 12:15 PM

                                                            Varsity & JV report: 1:00 PM
