Track Notes

- Congratulations to Captain Gordon Lewis who will represent the Prep at the state championships in Ithaca, NY on march 2nd. Gordon’s leap of 21’2” shattered the 4-year old school record by nearly a foot and a half, and placed him among the all-time top 20 long jumps in CHSAA history. This week’s MIP award is among the least of his accolades.

- Someone once said “a tie is like kissing your sister”. This year’s Freshman have shown great sororital devotion as they have made a habit of tying. They tied for the City Championship, tied the Mile Relay Record, and tied the 880 yard relay record. You can laugh, but the alternative is losing- and this year’s Freshman refused that alternative week after week.

Coming up:

- Tues. Feb. 27thFreshman dinner – meet outside prep at 3:15pm We should return by 6:00 pm.

- Thur. Feb. 9th – sign up meeting for new members in room 225 at 2:45pm. Former runners who plan to run outdoors need not attend. Talk it up among your friends!!!

- Sat. March 2nd. New York State Championships – Cornell U. The team wishes Captain Lewis luck at the States!

- Mon. March 4th – 1st day of practice for all runners and field

- Sat. March 16th – 1st meet: Manhattan College Invitational
