- The Most Improved Performance (MIP) Award is given weekly by this newsletter to the runner who makes the most significant improvement on his personal best time.
At this meet last year, Junior Mark Soden was a swimmer who happened to be running Cross Country in the off-season. This year, he’s a Varsity Cross Country runner who happens to be on the swim team—as evidence by his startling 2 minute improvement over the 2.5 mile course. A great testament to the value of hard work over the summer, Mark is this week’s MIP.
Also of note are the great improvements by the Freshman who have begun to show the fruits of determination in practice and the Sophomores who are rounding into a Sectional contender.
