Having found some old floppy disks, I thought I'd try to convert some Newsletters of days gone by. But newsletters from 1993-1997 were typed in some ancient version of Word Perfect and conversion isn't easy. As time warrants, I'll try to post others. Prep newsletters date back to 1988, but those before September of '93 were typed on an IBM Selectric (look it up, kids--it was a great machine), and will require scanning on my new scanner (thanks!). --Coach Febles (see also September 16, 1995)
Cross Country Newsletter '93
September 11, 1993
On a picture perfect fall day at Van Cortlandt Park, the Fordham Prep XC team made its debut with convincing victories
on the Varsity and Freshman levels. The best is yet to come.
In addition, the annual cross country pre-season camp concluded on Saturday
September 4th with our traditional trip to a Yankee game. The harriers
were treated to a slice of history as the Yankee's Jim Abbott pitched the first
Yankee no-hitter in 9 years.

XC Notes
The Most Improved Performance (MIP) Award is given weekly by this newsletter to the runner who makes the most
significant improvement on his personal best time. For his incredible early-season improvement, Junior
Anthony Batista is so far the most inconsistent runner on the team - thus earning
him the inaugural MIP Award. May such consistent inconsistency continue.
- Next Week: Regis Invitational © Freshmen report to VCP by 12:00pm
- Sophs, Jrs. and Srs. by 12:30pm
