Cross Country Newsletter ’92                                                                November 21, 1992

The 1992 Cross Country Season comes to a close on a highly positive note. The Jesuit Champs give us our highest Varsity and Freshman team finishes in years, and Rey Mendez places in the top 10 statewide for the second consecutive year. Finally, we added 22 medals to bring our season total (tentatively) to 212 – only 8 shy of last years record! All signals go for an exciting indoor campaign.

XC Notes

-          We’ll split the season-ending MIP four ways, since these competitors’ times stood out so dramatically. Congratulations to Chris Bratt, Josh Waldman, Dan Cavanaugh, and James Rausse for going out with a bang.

-         A special mention must be made in the name of consistency. Teamwork requires that certain team members be counted on to perform well every time. Junior Tom O’Dea filled that role with consistent sub-14:30 races, while Justin Chin was his freshman counterpart with weekly sub-9:50 performances. Your teammates and coaches thank you for your reliability and leadership.
