Senior Reynaldo Mendez once again
ran himself into the record books, this time by capturing the Prep’s 6th
Varsity CHSAA Cross Country Championship title. While Rey was writing his page
in history, the Freshman were opening a fresh page for themselves by taking the
NYSAIS title in smashing style. 12 medals ran our season total to 190.

The
Catholic High Schools Athletic Association has traditionally produced some of
the best cross country runners in the United States – making it one of the most
competitive leagues I n the country. Fordham Prep is proud to boast of six
CHSAA City Champions, of which Captain Reynaldo Mendez is the latest. Congratulations
on this historic achievement.
-
A
special note must go out to the Freshman squad, which dominated the field of
the Independent Schools Championships by winning with a miniscule 20 points and
capturing 8 of the 15 available medals. Dan Dengler continues to
establish himself as a premier harrier by taking home the individual title.
- Now, to the matter of MIP. Junior sprinter Ashley Saunders has paid his dues during a tough cross country season. This Saturday was payoff time as Ash hit a 45 second PR.
