In a true team effort, the
Fordham Weight division team made a bid for its first Sectional championship
since the 1960’s. Currently only 2.5 behind perennial winner
Iona Prep, an upset is in the making. 28 medals only made the team hungry for a
gold plaque.

Track
Notes
-
Congratulations
on a successful return to the track by Captain Rey Mendez. By winning the
Loughlin games (a 39-year old meet) 1000 meter run in 2:32.4, Rey got his name
in the record books by breaking the meet record. May it enjoy a healthy tenure.
- For his “Ironman” performance of three 800s and a mile run all within a 30 hour period, Junior Tom O’Dea, who also hit 3 PRs, gets the MIP hands down. Besides the Freshman, who continue to reveal their league dominance, there were other newcomers who made statements. Junior Mark Alexander blazed to a gold and silver medal, and Soph Rich Simone claimed some bronze for himself. Other PRs of note include Josh Waldman and Eric Alemany.
