- When 80% of the team
logs PRs, then another Coach's Cop-out is in order:
the MIP is awarded to the entire team. Not to say there weren't some standout
performances. For Rey Mendez to win a race of 220
runners, 350 miles from home, is truly special.
The varsity squad placed 5th among 31 schools
from Canada, New England, and the Midwest. Captains Mike Fink and Gerry
Sullivan are pacing the best Prep squad since the late 1960's (1969 was our last
Sectional Championship).
- Back home in NY, 2 more Frosh broke the
10-minute barrier (Rice and Finnerty), while the Soph squad (unofficially) won their race at the Xavier
Invitational.
