Indoor Track Newsletter February 1, 1992
At the CHSAA Indoor Championships, two pages were added to the storied history of Fordham Prep Track and Field. Senior Tom Gilbride set a new school record with his breathtaking 6’8” leap in the High Jump, while Junior Reynaldo Mendez became the first Fordham Prep Indoor City Champion since 1979 with his convincing victory in the 1600 Meter Run. Good Luck to these fine performers as they go on to compete in the State and National Championships.

Best Performance- Mike Casey, Villanova
Track Notes
-Senior Tom Gilbride jumped into the record books this Saturday. First, he broke a 16 year-old Prep Indoor High Jump record by 3 ¾ inches. Second, Tom’s jump was the 3rd highest ever at the City Championships (this year’s winner was no. 1), and made list of the Top 10 jumps in the League history. Congrats to a deserving MIP.
-On any other weekend, the performance of Eric Alemany (two PRs) and Mike Casey ( 2:09.2, 800 PR) would earn MIP - keep it up guys.
