            Fordham’s first indoor track meet of the 89-90 season was held on Sunday December 3rd at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.  Despite the hectic conditions, 65 runners competed for the Prep.  16 medals were won – accounting for nearly one quarter of the squad.  Certainly, the team is off to an auspicious beginning.

Track Notes

 

-         The MIP Award (Most Improved Performance) is awarded weekly on an informal basis to the runner who shows great improvement in the past weekend’s races.  This week’s award goes to Gerry Sullivan who improved his 800 meter time by 8 seconds.  Most of the Sophs and Varsity runners who ran the 800 this weekend ran their personal records.  The success of the Cross Country season will be long in memory.

-         The Varsity 3200 Meter team is ranked 8th in the league.  This puts them within striking distance of the Millrose Games 3200 Meter Relay.  The Garden awaits

-         Coming Up:  Varsity runners will compete on Saturday, Dec. 9th at Pratt.  Runners and times will be posted on the bulletin board.

Frosh and Soph runners will compete at the Loughlin Games at Manhattan College on Sunday, Dec. 10.  Reporting times and directions to Manhattan College will be posted.
