The Christmas season was good to the Fordham Prep Track Team as the Varsity and Sophomores competed in two non-league meets.  On December 23rd, the Varsity trekked up to West Point for the MAC Christmas Classic and on December 29th the Varsity and Sophs ran in the Fairleigh Dickinson Holiday Classic.  9 medals were won as the team looks forward to beginning the 90’s with a bang.

-         The Holiday MIP goes to Senior Mike Chang.  Mike posted three distance PRs in the 1200, Mile Run, and 3200 Run.  He’s only just begun…

-         Congratulations to Sophomores Mike Fink and Brian Etheridge who both earned their Varsity letters this week.  Mike ran an astounding 4:38.9 1600 meter run while Brian ran a blistering 54.9 for the 400.  Congrats to both.

-         N.B. MEETS COST MONEY!!!!!  When runners don’t show up for meets they not only ruin relays but also cast the team money.  All meets are paid for at least a week in advance, so if you have a good reason for not attending a meet you should tell the coach at least a week ahead of time.  An example of the waste:  for Friday’s meet a $200 bus was rented for 44 runners – 24 showed.  The team could have used two school vans – costing the team about $10.  In the future, no-showing runners will be charged the cost of their entry fee and face the possibility from being dropped from the roster.
