            It was a busy weekend for Fordham Prep Track as the team competed n two of the toughest meets of the season.  Saturday’s Pratt Relays and Sunday’s Loughlin Games pitted the best competitors from both the Catholic and Public schools of New York City.  76 runners competed for Fordham this weekend while 5 medals were won.

Track Notes

 

-         While there were many impressive PR’s hit this weekend, especially by returning ’88-’89 stars, two that stand out were run in the same race.  Juniors Keith Baron and Mark Sternefeld battled down to the finish in first and second place while anchoring their respective Sprint Medleys.  Both improved their 400 times considerably.

 

-         The Ironman award has to go to Sophs Mike Fink, Brian Etheridge, and Tom Gilbride – all of whom competed on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.  Each won medals and completed all their homework (?) !

 

-         Coming up:

-Varsity runners will compete on Saturday in the Varsity version of the Bishop Loughlin Games.

- NOTA BENE; CHANGE IN SCHEDULE! – Freshman and Sophomores will be competing this weekend at the Molloy High School Development Meet.  Keep posted for more information to be given during the practice week.
