April 19, 2006 - 5th Annual CHSAA Relay Carnival - Icahn Stadium, Randall's Island     70 deg., windy
Many great races at all levels on a bright sunny day, albeit a fairly windy one at Icahn Stadium.  The Hurdlers won both relays to stay undefeated, the Freshman won two sprint relays and the Sophs broke the school record in the 4x1600.  The meet was capped off by the final duel in the final event, where National Soph Record holder Lionel Williams just edged out our own Brian Doherty to lead St. Peter's to a 8:02.29 to 8:02.36 win.  Williams anchored in 1:52.3 to Doherty's 1:52.7 which will go down as one of the greatest 4x800's in Relay Carnival history (both teams broke the meet record as well).

OR arrive at Icahn Stadium 1.5 hours before your race if it's before 11am,
2 hours before race if it's after 11am

By Car:  (Note: toll is $4.50 entering the island and free when leaving the island)

From the Bronx and points north:
Take the Major Deegan or Bruckner Expressway to the Triborough Bridge. Stay right for the exit to Randall's and Wards Island, immediately after the toll plaza.

From Manhattan:
Get on the Triborough Bridge at East 125th Street. Stay left for the exit to Randall's and Wards Island, immediately after the toll plaza.

Subway/Bus:

Take the 4, 5, or 6 Lexington Ave. trains to 125th St., then transfer on the NW corner of 125th St. and Lexington Ave. for the M35 bus to Randall's and Wards Island. For MTA bus travel info, call (718) 330-1234.

By Foot:
You can walk across the footbridge from E. 103rd St. in Manhattan onto Randall's and Wards Island Park during summer daylight hours. Pedestrians can also walk across on the Triborough Bridge from Manhattan, Queens, or the Bronx.
