The story: Egan had trouble off the line and was in 8th off the first turn, but calmly, steadily moved up to hand off with a slight lead on Farrell.  Bradley held the lead through the 400m with 5 teams in a tight pack.  Coming of an illness that kept him out of school 2 days over the past week, John faded slightly to 4th, but still right in the pack.  Garvey held 4th with a controlled, even race.  Handing off in 4th, the pack was only slightly extended, but St. Peter's Lionel Williams had rocketed past the entire field with an amazing 1:53.3 leg.  Lundy reeled in St. Peter's as he and the other anchors made the race a real nailbiter, finishing in 4th and sealing the trip to 33rd and 7th on Feb 4th.
Not lost in the excitement was the birth of another star half-miler.  Senior  Conor Devaney ran and unheard-of 8 second PR with his blistering 2:04 anchor leg in the B team!  And Soph Justin Consolazio logged an impressive 2 sec PR at 2:05!

What a race!  7 of the 8 teams held the lead at some point in the race, and the one that didn't (St. Anthony's) had a  faster 4th-man time than any of the top six teams!  Go figure!
