Gifts of Securities
Gifts of appreciated marketable securities afford donors an attractive means of giving to Fordham Prep. Donors receive a tax deduction for the market value of the securities they give to Fordham Prep — computed on the day of their transfer — while avoiding payment of capital gains on the stock's appreciated value. It is the policy of Fordham Prep to sell all gifts of stock as soon as they have been transferred to Fordham Prep. Donors of stock are encouraged to consult their brokers or advisors.
Use the information below to set up your electronic stock transfer. If you have questions, please contact Ann Marie Denning at 718-367-7500, ext 251, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.

bequests and planned giving
Making a bequest or planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Fordham Prep and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may actually increase the size of your estate and/or reduce the tax burden on your heirs. Just as importantly, you will know that you have made a meaningful contribution to the Prep.
Once you have indicated that you have made a bequest or planned gift, or otherwise made provisions in your estate plans for Fordham Prep, you will become members of the Shea-McDonough Society. As a member of the Society, your name will be published in recognition of your commitment and thereby encourage others to follow your example. The names of Shea-McDonough Society members are published three times yearly in Ramview, our periodical for members of the greater Fordham Prep family of alumni, parents, and friends.
The Society is named for two legendary members of the Prep’s faculty: Arthur M. Shea, S.J., who was Prefect of Discipline for more than 40 years, and Harry L. McDonough, a celebrated teacher of mathematics for more than 50 years. In naming the Society for these individuals, the Trustees of Fordham Prep sought to honor their memories and to create an affordable means for any graduate, parent, or friend to lend financial support to the Prep, and thereby to ensure that the institution to which Fr. Shea and Mr. McDonough dedicated their lives would remain a vital force in American secondary education.

corporate and foundation giving
Each year, corporations and foundations support Fordham Prep through outright gifts, restricted grants, event support, sponsorships, underwriting, and matching gifts. These collaborations have sustained a wide range of initiatives and programs.
Fordham Prep welcomes all inquiries and contacts from foundations and corporations, as well as suggestions from faculty, alumni, parents, and friends of the Prep, on potential partnerships with foundations and corporations.
