Dear Fordham Prep Community,
As we sit down at the Thanksgiving table to enjoy the company of family and friends, I encourage you to reflect on the blessings and gifts for which you are most grateful.
This year, I am grateful for the generosity of so many alumni and parents whose gifts allow us to advance our mission of faith, scholarship, and service to such a diverse community of young men. I am also grateful for our students, who have just completed our annual Hunger Awareness Program and collected 41,532 food items, shattering all previous Prep records. Thanks to them, our neighbors who experience hunger will find a meal at POTS, Concourse House, Mercy Center, OLA Helping Hands, and St. Claire's food pantries. Finally, I am grateful for Fordham Prep's extraordinary faculty and staff, who devote their energy and intellect to form young men of conscience, competence, compassion, and commitment.
St. Ignatius Loyola believed in the power of gratitude to turn our minds and hearts to our loving God. This is my prayer for you this Thanksgiving: that your gratitude may lead you to the Source of every good gift and blessing, and that this journey of thanksgiving may continue to inspire you to become a man or woman for others, dedicated to God's greater glory.
