5/20/06 - CHSAA VARSITY OUTDOOR INTERSECTIONAL CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS - Icahn Stadium
Jon Bednarz is gaining a rep for coming through when it counts. Chomping at the bit all winter to vault early and vault often,
Coach Carney kept the reigns on and pointed towards the Indoor Cities. There were some tough weeks of frustration for awhile,
but in the end Jon won when it counted. In the spring, Jon displayed the patience of a veteran, never concerned with vaulting too
much, just being sure that workouts went well. And so they did. So much so that Jon became only the 7th NYC high schooler
to clear 15', and 3rd at the Prep. However, he is the first Junior to clear that barrier. Look for more big days in the not-so-distant future.
