The meet directors put 22 teams on the line, and leadoff Terrence Egan stayed out of the fray, coolly resting in, yes, 19th place until the field strung out, then pounced to hand off in 5th at 3:10.1; Matt Keefer edged closer to the leaders with a 52.3 carry, and Brian Doherty burst to the lead with a stunning 1:54.7 leg. John Bradley turned in a brilliant 4:22.8 leg, finishing 2nd and holding off some of the best milers in the nation, including Colt's Neck 4:05 junior Craig Forys.
