The Prep had a great Sectional Championship as they met success on all levels.  Gathering 17 championship medals was no easy feat – nor will capturing a fifth consecutive Jesuit title be a given.  An inspired effort is a “must” for Friday.

Track Notes

- Another weekend of many PRs, another newsletter hard-pressed to decide an MIP.  This time we’ll go to a non-traditional source and select Senior Ed Strada for becoming the first Prep Shot Putter to throw over 40 feet in three years.  Basil Cocheekaran has become a regular feature in this segment, and deserves special mention once again for another fine Saturday.  Basil shares the limelight with the many runners who hit double PRs.  Also, for sheer determination, Senior John Verlezza had two sterling races that serve as examples to his teammates.

FLASH BULLETIN!!!

As we all know, the Indoor Jesuit Championships are this Friday.  While we are the four-time defending champs, there is little cause to rest on our laurels.  In fact, we enter the meet as underdogs for the first time in five years.  Both Xavier and Regis outscored us at the Varsity Sectionals, and Regis beat us in the Frosh Sectionals.  Still, the title is ours for the taking.  A focused and determined attitude in practice this week will ensure us of making it five-in-a-row.  BE THERE!!!
